Luncheon shows Sloan Staff Holiday Cheer and “Thanks” for the Year

Murrysville PA – December 16, 2011  –  Death by Chocolate and Papaya Kiwi Salad may not have been on the cafeteria menu, but that didn’t stop Sloan Elementary  employees from enjoying them for lunch on Friday.  Those items and many other salads, sides and desserts generously provided by parents, made for a scrumptious buffet at the annual Sloan PTO Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.

Teachers, faculty and staff were invited to stop by the LGI during the day and enjoy holiday music, seasonal decorations and the festive spread – which also included entrees paid for with PTO funds and a generous cash donation.  Happy teachers left with gifts of ink cartridges for their classroom printers – paid for by the PTO’s recent fundraisers – and full bellies.   So much wonderful food was donated that the PTO was able to send treats to community members in need through the Meals on Wheels program.

Jennifer Taylor, Hospitality Committee Chairperson was delighted to organize the luncheon and looks forward to a similarly successful event in the spring thanks to the help of parent volunteers who worked tirelessly to make sure that everything ran smoothly throughout the day.  Those who wish to be involved in May should contactTaylorat
